According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, vital energy flows through the twelve organs and completes one cycle every twenty-four hours. The Chinese Organ Clock shows the circadian flow of the vital energy (Qi – pronounced "Chi") through various organ systems in relation to the time of day. Each organ has maximum energy for two hours. The organ has minimum energy (or lowest flow of Qi) 12 hours later.

Here are a few words of wisdom from Astrologer Susan Levitt on what to anticipate for this New Year:
“The new Moon on January 30 at 11:20 pm PST “Decisive action, not procrastination, brings victory. But you have to act fast in a Horse year. If you are not 100% secure about a decision, then don’t do it. Events move so quickly in a Horse year that you don’t want to gallop off in the wrong direction…” “In Chinese astrology, Horse year is considered a fortunate year that brings luck and good things. Magical Horse has supernatural powers, is heroic, strong, and can even fly! A white celestial cloud Horse is sacred to the Chinese Goddess Kwan Yin. Her white Horse flies through the heavens, bringing peace and blessings…” “…The impulsive way of doing things in a Horse year is not the best year for everyone. For example, the spontaneous energy of Horse year brings challenges to the thoughtful Rat who is Horse’s opposite. “Fast action flows just right for you if you are compatible with Horse energy by having Horse, Tiger, Dog, or Sheep in your Chinese Four Pillars chart of animal year, month, day, and hour…” “But if you do not have lucky animal signs in your Four Pillars birth chart, maybe for you in this Horse year it might be better to just…let others be the risk takers or whistle blowers… For you, stay smart and thrifty, hang on to what you already have, and not rebel like spirited Horse…” “The time for pondering and planning was 2013 Snake year. Horse year is time to act fast, buy that home, launch that business, travel the world, make a big purchase, get a promotion at work, have a breakthrough – take a leap and fly. “If it’s right, then there’s nothing to think about. Just follow instincts. Even if you miss the mark, you’ll have all of Wood Sheep year 2015 to get cozy and enjoy life’s comforts in all their artistic forms. “…Horse year is about freedom, returning to nature, and enjoying life and life’s adventures. You won’t always want to focus on work because it’s easy to be distracted by fun, good times, and parties in sexy Horse year. “Because Horse can be impulsive, act now and think later, avoid the mistakes of overspending, enabling others, and denying when there is a problem. “Overspending is easy in a Horse year because if you feel you deserve something or want a reward, the impulse to buy is strong. Horses often buy what they feel they deserve without realizing how their purchases effect their long-term planning because Horse rarely plans for the future. “Also in Horse year, it’s easy to make a snap decision, especially business decisions that are not planned but ‘just feel right’ Denial that there is a problem is another Horse trait. It’s easier to move on to the next adventure than face reality or clean up a mess. So don’t ignore details this year while being an optimist that things will all just work out on their own. “Horse doesn’t care about money and lives large, so in Horse year you might be tempted to overspend on entertainment, going out, fun festivities – anything to keep up with the Horse good times and spirit of live today. Horse year ends in triumph or tragedy, and more businesses will fail than succeed. So learn from what you see around you. “You don’t have to act, but you do have to know. “ Copyright 2013 Susan Levitt All Rights Reserved The Xiaolan Health Centre is open over the Holidays! Losing weight – and keeping it off – in a completely natural way is possible. Decrease your appetite, burn fat quickly, preserve your muscle, reboot your metabolism and see how quickly you can thrive physically and emotionally with the HCG diet. What it is: The HCG diet is administered under expert medical care. It is a low-calorie diet combined with injections of HCG, a naturally occurring hormone in both men and women. Keeping the weight off after a diet can be just as challenging as losing pounds in the first place, but a solution exists with the revolutionary HCG diet. Scientifically proven to be an effective means of weight loss by Dr. A.T.W Simeons in the UK in the 1950’s, the HCG diet makes it easy to maintain the figure you worked so hard to achieve. Under medical supervision, you learn to develop an entirely new approach to food, which not only transforms your body, but provides you with a fresh perspective on healthy eating. The diet harnesses the power of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). In women, HCG is created by the body to nourish the fetus during pregnancy. In men it increases testosterone levels. Incorporated into the HCG diet, the hormone helps you lose the right type of fat and avoid the “sagging” effects associated with other diets. A unique benefit of the diet is that it will reboot your metabolism and you gain an increased awareness about what foods you should be eating. With the HCG diet, maintaining your post-diet weight is the simplest it’s ever been. How it works: The HCG aspect of the diet helps curb your appetite, working at the pituitary level to target and eliminate fat cells. By combining a diet of 500 calories per day with minute, low-dosage injections of the HCG hormone for 21-30 days, patients may lose one pound each day without the worry of regaining it later. By supplying the body with these additional levels of HCG, food cravings are effectively reduced, moods are improved and fat is eliminated. Fat stores release fuel into the bloodstream, keeping energy levels up despite reduced caloric intake. A vital, distinguishing factor of the HCG diet is that it prevents ketosis, an undesirable and common side effect of most low-calorie diets. Enjoy foods that are low in fat but high in protein to promote a leaner figure during the diet. Why Detox: Our fat is where our body stores toxins, so accompanying this rapid weight loss with detox treatments is essential for balance. Second Spring provides 2 Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture treatments combined with massages for lymphatic drainage and infrared saunas during the second and third week of your weight loss. Two intravenous Myers Cocktails are also administered to ensure essential vitamins are not lost while on the HCG diet. It is essential to keep in mind that this diet must be administered under the supervision of a doctor and diet counselor for safe long-lasting results.
