We are pleased to announce a new addition to our people and services here at the Xiaolan Health Centre: Alla Sydorchenko and Colonic Hydrotherapy! Alla studied Dermatology at the National Medical University in Kiev, Ukraine; Certified Colon Therapy at the Canadian Academy of Holistic Medicine; Registered Nutritional Consultation Practitioner program at the National Institute in Hanoi, Vietnam; and the Certified Nutritional Practitioner program at the National Institute of Traditional Medicine in Hanoi, Vietnam. Coming to see Alla, you will benefit from her background as a trained Medical specialist in Ukraine to ensure diagnostic and therapeutic treatments are right for your specific needs. This is just one of the ways in which she is different from other colonic therapists in Toronto. Alla would like to personally invite you to try our colonic services. She believes very strongly in the approaches we use to restore health and balance. We practice on ourselves the procedures recommended to our clients when appropriate and we have first hand experience in seeing benefits of colonic therapy. We love what we do and take both a personal and professional pride in watching clients move towards balance and health. Please visit the Colon Hydrotherapy section of our website here, and for more information on Alla, please visit her page on our website here. Congratulations to Alla and welcome Alla to the Xiaolan Health Centre family!

A patient and friend of the Xiaolan Health Centre has released a new book that we are proud to share with you:
Registered psychotherapist and mental health advocate Stacey Gorlicky shares her personal exploration of body image, sexuality and addiction in her first book, Food, Sex & You: Untangling Body Obsession in a Weight-Obsessed World examines the delicate correlation between the need for food and the desire for sex – two of the most powerful engines driving evolution. In addressing the vital connection between food and sex, the book documents both Stacey’s personal battle as well as her experiences with clients on overcoming obsessions and fears around the two evolutionary drives. “Self-acceptance is the greatest gift you can give yourself, and I am proud to help men and women take that first step towards that journey,” said Stacey. “Only by letting go of destructive actions and thought patterns can you gain genuine control, listening to your body and paying attention to its real needs.” Stacey guides readers through a road to recovery from distorted body image and self-dissatisfaction, addressing the challenges that occur when food and sex are used to feed psychological voids and wounds. Food, Sex & You, now available to purchase online and in major bookstores across Canada, including Chapters Indigo, Amazon, iTunes and Barnes & Noble.
